Welcome to our home, one of the most unspoiled places we have found. Crestone/Baca Grande is nestled under the 14,000-foot peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in south-central Colorado, just north of the Great Sand Dunes National Park, on the eastern edge of the magnificent San Luis Valley, the largest intermountain valley in the world. The small town of Crestone/Baca Grande has a reputation as a place of fantastic beauty and peace. The area is home for a number of spiritual groups and retreat centers, representing contemplative traditions from around the world. Cottonwood Creek Cabin was built in 2002 by Beth and John Tatarko on a location handpicked for its fantastic views. You will be surrounded by the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the San Luis Valley, and Rio Grande National Forest.

This new cabin is a three bedroom plus loft (sleeps up to 12), two bath, vacation home for peaceful retreat by the day or week. It is tastefully decorated and has a fully equipped kitchen and a washer/dryer for your use.

A great place to vacation, recreate, and rejuvenate, you can:
  • Hike the "fourteeners" of the Sangre de Cristo and the Rio Grande National Forest - trails and lakes within walking distance
  • Explore the Sand Dunes National Park (30 min)
  • Ski at Monarch (1 hr 15 min) or Wolf Creek (1 hr 30 min)
  • River raft along the Arkansas River (50 min) or the Rio Grande River at Creede (93 mi)
  • Horseback ride at Crestone
  • Golf at Crestone
  • Fish in the Sangre de Cristos, San Luis Lakes State Park, or the Arkansas River
  • Watch wildlife or birds
  • Soak in geothermal hot springs, pools, and spa (15 - 20 mi)
  • Ride the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (76 mi)
